The individual in this full time position is under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager. The Engineering Technician is required to perform various difficult technical engineering assignments. The individual is responsible for developing a wide variety of computerized maps, developing construction drawings, reviewing engineering drawings for HCWA and developer projects, preparing detailed opinions of probable cost, performing sanitary sewer basin evaluations, performing field surveys that include construction layout and boundary verification surveys, fire flow tests, performing water system hydraulic and network analyses, and troubleshooting various water distribution and wastewater collections system issues. Work requires sound understanding of engineering principles and design, and systems operation methods and practices.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Civil Engineering, Pre-Engineering, Planning or a closely related field; two years related experience and/or training in the water/wastewater field, including one year utilizing CAD software; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CAD) software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Georgia Driver's License required for employment; Level 2 Sediment & Erosion Control Certification; Confined Space and Competent Person Certifications required to be completed within one year of employment.
