Fleet Mechanic III
Under general supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Manager, this position performs maintenance and repairs to heavy and light trucks, construction equipment, automobiles and similar equipment; operates a variety of hand, power and shop tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs preventative maintenance, inspections and services on HCWA equipment and vehicles.
- Performs inspections and quality checks to ensure regulatory compliance and troubleshoots repairs of all systems and related components.
- Responds to and performs emergency service calls in the field, including troubleshooting repairs, equipment failures and repairing equipment.
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment and tools associated with repair, maintenance and testing of assigned area of operations, including all aspects of welding and fabrication.
- Completes work orders and related information for work performed utilizing tracking software.
- Installs needed accessories to add functionality to vehicles, including light bars, strobe lights and other emergency equipment.
- Determines when it is necessary to take vehicles to dealer for warranty repairs.
- Cleans and maintains the garage area and all equipment.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines as well as hydraulic and electrical systems, including computer-related systems.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and fleet maintenance software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Georgia Driver's License. Class A CDL preferred. ASE Master Certification in either Auto/Light or Medium/Heavy Truck preferred.
