HCWA celebrating national Fix a Leak Week March 18-24

The Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) is capping off Fix a Leak Week – recognized nationally within the water industry during the week of March 18-24, 2019 – with a Customer Appreciation, hosting a cookout for guests and thanking them for their business.

In addition, during the workweek of Fix a Leak Week (Monday, March 18 – Friday, March 22, 2019) – the HCWA staff will provide public information and conservation tips for guests as well.

During the utility’s normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., employees will offer demonstrations on how to find and fix household leaks. HCWA customers also can learn valuable insights on how to read their water bill to identify consumption spikes that may be due to leaks. Finally, the Authority will give away water conservation kits, while supplies last, and advise customers on the benefits of water efficient/WaterSense appliances/products. The HCWA Headquarters is located at 1695 Highway 20 West in McDonough.

Fix-A-Leak Week is a national event of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense Program, which is a brand to promote water efficiency and wise water use among consumers. EPA has designated the HCWA as a WaterSense Promotional Partner. By promoting the value of water, the WaterSense Program helps consumers make wise choices regarding their water use and the availability of water-efficient products.

Some of the common sources of household leaks include: Toilets, Shower Heads, Faucets, Outdoor Spigots, Sprinkler/Irrigation Systems, Water Lines, and Appliances.
