Warren Holder

Warren Holder, Chair

Warren Holder joined the Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) Board of Directors in January of 2017, representing the citizens in Henry County’s District 1, following his appointment by Henry County Commissioner Johnny Wilson. He currently serves as the HCWA Board Chair.

Mr. Holder is a Henry County native and lifelong resident of Locust Grove. He is the owner of Warren Holder Equipment, LLC in downtown Locust Grove, where he enjoys interacting with customers and helping them with their lawn maintenance and home improvement needs.

“I’m honored to be able to serve and represent the area of our county where most of our raw water resources are located,” says Holder. “I will do my best to protect and manage these resources while serving our citizens in the best possible way. I have been familiar with the Authority and its role in the development of our county for more than 50 years.”

Mr. Holder has an impressive public service record, beginning with his election to the Locust Grove City Council in 1971 at the age of 21. He spent 18 years on the City Council prior to serving on the Henry County Farm Service Agency from 1988 to 1996. During this time, he also was elected to the Henry County Board of Education, serving one term beginning in 1992.

Mr. Holder is perhaps best known for his work as a Henry County Commissioner. He was elected to four terms on the Henry County Board of Commissioners, serving from 1996 to 2012, during a time when his community was one of the fastest-growing counties in the state and nation. Mr. Holder has previous experience in leadership for local utilities, as he has served on the Central Georgia EMC Board of Directors since 1999.

“I have dedicated many years during my time in public service to maintaining and improving our infrastructure while protecting our natural resources, so we can enjoy a quality of life in Henry County that is the envy of our neighbors,” says Holder. “Water and sewer are critically important to our community since these services dictate where and how our county can and will develop.”

Mr. Holder is a graduate of Henry County High School, prior to graduating from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton and attending Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and is President of the Locust Grove Heritage Foundation.  Mr. Holder and his wife, Cindy, have two children and four grandchildren.
