HCWA Recognizes Essay Contest Winner

Congratulations to Dedrick Cooper, a student a McDonough Middle School, for winning the Henry County Essay Contest, sponsored by the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.

The HCWA Board of Directors recognized Dedrick, who was accompanied by his mother Tiwanna Crawford, at its January Meeting. Dedrick read his winning essay titled: “WhaTER a Dream.” The Metro Water District noted that Dedrick’s essay was “exemplary” for exploring this year’s contest topic of “How do you value water?”

The Metro Water District’s annual Essay Contest received more than 600 entries among students participating from the District’s 15 counties and 92 municipalities. For winning the Henry County Essay Contest, Dedrick earned a $100 gift card and recognition along with the other Essay Contest winners at the State Capitol in December.
