HCWA Hosting Community Shred Day on April 30

The Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) will be hosting a Community Shred Day on Saturday April 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at its headquarters complex, located at 1695 Highway 20 West in McDonough. The event is scheduled after tax season to allow local residents and businesses an opportunity to shred documents and materials that can be recycled.

 

The items the Authority is accepting during this Shred Day include:

Office Paper

Office Paper with Paper Clips and/or Rubber Bands

Manilla Folders

Handing File Folders

 

Items that will not be accepted include:

Jumbo Binder Clips

Glass

Report Covers

Plastic

Styrofoam

Cardboard

Newspapers

Plastic Protectors

Clothing

X-Rays

Microfilm/Microfiche

Electronics

 

However, many of the items not being accepted by the HCWA during its Community Shred Day can be taken to the Henry County Recycling Center, located at 65 West Asbury Road in McDonough. The Recycling Center is open Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
