Imagine a Day Without Water -- for drinking, bathing, fire fighting...

Can you imagine having no water to drink or wash your hands with? Can you imagine having no water to take a shower, flush the toilet, do your laundry, or cook your meals?

Hospitals couldn’t adequately care for patients, firefighters couldn’t fight fires, and farmers couldn’t water their crops.

Imagine A Day Without Water – recognized this year on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 – is a national event within the water industry designed to raise awareness of the value of water, the essential and invaluable nature of public drinking water, as well as the importance of investing in water systems and utility infrastructure.

This year marks the eighth annual Imagine a Day Without Water event, which was founded by the national Value of Water Campaign, which is a public education effort of the U.S. Water Alliance. The U.S. Water Alliance is made up of industry associations such as the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Water Environment Federation (WEF), as well as public water utilities, elected officials, policy makers, contractors, civil engineers, schools, and others. An estimated 1,100 organizations across the country participate in some form of Imagine a Day Without Water recognition each year.
