HCWA hosting Customer Appreciation the week of March 18-22

The Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) is hosting its annual Customer Appreciation during the week of March 18-22.

During this week, which also coincides with national Fix a Leak Week (March 18-24) and World Water Day (March 22), the Authority’s customer service staff will be handing out HCWA swag, water conservation kits, wise water use tips, and information on the Charitable Assistance Program as well as other financial assistance resources.

Authority customers can enjoy the Customer Appreciation when visiting the HCWA Headquarters Customer Service counter or drive thru window during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) that week of March 18-22.

While visiting the HCWA Headquarters during Customer Appreciation Week, Authority customers also can purchase Reservoir Use Permits, which are on sale for $50 for a one-year permit and $85 for a two-year permit. HCWA Reservoir Use Permits also are available for seniors and citizens with disabilities for the discounted rate of $25 for a one-year permit and $45 for a two-year pass.

The 2024 HCWA Fishing Season began the first weekend in March and runs through the end of November. More information on the HCWA fishing season and schedule is available here.

National Fix a Leak Week is a public outreach program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to raise awareness of the water and money saved all year round from finding and fixing household water leaks. Household leaks can waste nearly 1 trillion gallons of water annually nationwide, or nearly 10,000 gallons of water for an average household.

Common types of leaks include worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and other leaking valves. These types of leaks are easy and inexpensive to fix, while the savings can be significant, according to Authority officials.

World Water Day on March 22 is an annual United Nations Observance to celebrate water and inspire action to tackle the global water crisis.

More information is available on water conservation here and leak detection here, or by contacting Lindsey Sanders, HCWA Communications and Regulatory Coordinator, at lindsey.sanders@hcwa.com or 678-583-3809.
